The story of purple is more than a pigment—it’s a prism. A subtle, shifting mirror reflecting the beliefs we inherit, the systems we participate in, and the futures we imagine.

Purple has followed us across empires, economies, screens, and skins. Once extracted from snails, then traded as power, today it’s embedded in loot systems and branding, protest flags and personal avatars. But its greatest alchemy may be this: a color that doesn’t exist in the physical spectrum now shapes entire perceptions of value.

That makes purple the perfect metaphor for belief systems.

Some of the ideas we carry, about success, status, authority, were decided thousands of years ago. And we continue to live by them, even when they no longer serve the worlds we want to build.

We are all currently living in a liminal space - a threshold between what was and what might be. Much of the world we’ve known can no longer sustain itself, yet the future remains emergent, ambiguous, and up for negotiation.
